DDR FTW!!!
This year our middle school students are beginning class with DDR, or a Daily Drawing Ritual. When they enter the classroom, they sketch for the first five minutes of class. They might draw a shoe, a face, or some random object they find on their table. This drawing is a "warm up" for the eye and artistic spirit. Similar to running a few laps before gym class, these drawings help prepare them for the day and strengthen their drawing skills...as well as provide some structure for transitioning into class.
